防止跌落之病床輔具設計

中文摘要 實務經驗中發現很多病患會自床尾縫隙跌落而產生傷害，採用各式防範效果並不佳。若能將床尾間的縫隙做遮檔，改善病床使用的安全性，透過此替代策略降低或不使用約束，應能有效的保護病患。本設計之好板友為一款防止病患從床尾縫隙跌落同時兼具桌板的的輔具，還兼具提供用餐、閱讀及娛樂時使用的多重輔助功能，適用多數床體，並有以下四個特點：(1)阻檔床尾縫隙防止病患滑落；(2)堅固穩定、易清潔、操作簡單；(3)桌面為粗糙面並設有防滑落凹槽、桌緣均為圓弧設計防撞傷；(4)附加可調式桌板，可隨病患搖高床頭後的高度進行調整，亦可隨時將桌板收納至床尾板後，不佔據空間。整體具備多項優勢，若推廣於臨床實務中，將可改善病床使用的安全性，提升保護及預防長者自床上滑落或夾於縫隙的傷害。

“Bedside Friend” Fall Prevention Assistive Device For Safety

English Abstract Practical experience has shown that many patients fall from the edge of the bed and get injured, and various preventive measures have been proven ineffective. Closing the gap at the end of the bed can be employed as an alternative strategy to reduce or eliminate the use of belt restraints, effectively protecting patients and improving the safety of hospital beds. The “Bedside Friend” is a multi-function assistive device that prevents patients from falling off the bed. It also serves as a tabletop for dining, reading, and entertainment. It is suitable for most beds and has four features: 1. Blocking the gap at the end of the bed to prevent patients from falling. 2. Sturdy, stable, easy to clean, and simple to operate. 3. The tabletop has a coarse surface with anti-slip grooves; the table edges are rounded corners designed to prevent discolorations. 4. The device comes with an adjustable tabletop to suit the height of the head of the bed; the tabletop can be folded behind the footboard without taking space. Overall, this device has many advantages. Suppose the device can be promoted in clinical practices. In that case, it can enhance the safety of hospital beds, improve protection, and prevent injuries to older adults from falling off the bed or being stuck in gaps.Keywords：elderly, fall prevention, hospital bed rails, overbed table
